Annaliese Adams West Jessamine High School, Nicholasville, KY. Class of 2020. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Sean Piatt. Ms. Adams has participated in KMEA All-State in 2019 and 2018, KMEA District 7 All-District in 2018-2020, and has numerous Distinguished Ratings through Solo and Ensemble, as well as, District Assessment. Annaliese is attending college to pursue Music Education.

Christian Adams Wood Memorial High School, Oakland City, IN. Class of 2020. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Michael White. Christian is a great clarinet player, who happens to be blind. Throughout HS Christian has excelled and let nothing get in his way. 

Kaliegh Adams Stevens High School, Claremont, NH. Class of 2020. Instrument: Flute, Director: Emma Robitille. Kaliegh has been playing the flute for years and it is her passion. Her current plans are to go to college for music performance.

Ava Asmus Muskegon Catholic Central, Muskegon, MI. Class of 2020. Instrument: Flute, Director: Frances Toothman.

Andrew Auchstetter Marmion Academy: Marmion Rosary Band, Aurora, IL. Class of 2020. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Mr. René Rosas. Andrew Auchstetter ('20) began playing clarinet at Rotolo Middle School in Batavia, IL. Andrew and his parents made the decision for him to attend Marmion Academy, a Catholic-Benedictine college preparatory high school for young men in Aurora, IL. During his time at Marmion, Andrew performed on tenor saxophone with the Jazz Band and was principal clarinet in the Wind Ensemble his junior and senior years. In January 2020 Andrew performed with the Illinois All-State Honors Band in Peoria for the IMEC. Beginning in his sophomore year, Andrew qualified for three consecutive years to perform at the WSMA State Level Solo and Ensemble Festival where he earned 1st division ratings each year. He will attend the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University as a clarinet major in the studio of Professor Howard Klug.

Megan Bachman Southwestern CUSD, Brighton, IL. Class of 2020. Instrument: Flute, Director: Lacy Wray. While in Southwestern Piasa Bird Band, Megan has been selected into the ILMEA District Band both her Junior and Senior year. She has attended multiple events at SIUE including Bi-State Band Festival and Flute Day. She has also consistently received 1s at IHSA Solo and Ensemble Contests. Megan's future plans will be to attend Murray State University in KY where she will be majoring in Art Education and continuing to play her flute in the MSU Marching Band.

Joshua Barker Auburn Public Schools, Auburn, NE. Class of 2020. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Matthew Stubbs.

Samantha Barton Thornapple Kellogg High School, Middleville, MI. Class of 2020. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Ray Rickert. Samantha is an outstanding young player who is constantly seeking to improve. She participated in the Meyer Music Honors Orchestra in November of 2019. Samantha will study genetics at Purdue University where she hopes to be a member of the jazz and marching bands.

Matthew Bartosch Herculaneum High School, Herculaneum, MO. Class of 2020. Instrument: French Horn, Director: Doug Smelser. Matthew Bartosch french horn player in concert band and trumpet in the jazz band. Member of a number of honor bands and honor ratings at festivals.Plans on going to Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Olivia Bates Faith Christian Academy, Martinsburg, WV. Class of 2022. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Jason Crawford. Olivia was a co-awardee in 2019 with Jackson Crawford.

Amanda Batiste Granite Bay High School, Granite Bay, CA. Class of 2020. Instrument: Flute, Director: Lynn Lewis. Amanda was in band for four years and was the student president. She was a member of many honor bands and was a fantastic musician. Amanda played an amazing flute solo in Danza Cubanas in Carnegie Hall March 10, 2020 right before the whole world shut down.

Emma Becker Granite Bay High School, Granite Bay, CA. Class of 2020. Instrument: Clarinet/Bass Clarinet, Director: Lynn Lewis. Emma was an amazing performer throughout her 4 years in band at Granite Bay. She was key in mentoring other students and was a member of the 2020 California All State Band in Fresno. Emma finalized her performances with a killer Danzas Cubanas in Carnegie Hall on March 10, 2020. Just days before the whole world shut down

Clare Berghaus Michigan Lutheran High School, St. Joseph, MI. Class of 2020. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Shannon Eggers. Clare has played trumpet for 8 years, and has been a solid participant both in and out of the music room. She's participated in her church brass choir for a couple of years, and never hesitates to gently lead. She plans to study music as a minor in college.

Belle Bernhardt Wing Public School, Wing, ND. Class of 2020. Instrument: Flute, Director: Ryan Barry. Belle is a superb musician and a great leader.

Evelyn Biber Northgate Middle/High School, Pittsburgh, PA. Class of 2020. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Jessica Haberman.

Ryan Biller Manistee High School, Manistee, MI. Class of 2020. Instrument: Alto Saxophone, Director: Andrea Mack. Ryan is an outstanding leader and member of the Manistee HS Marching, Jazz, and Symphonic Bands for the last four years. He has been an impressive drum major and student leader and worked diligently to help the entire band program improve by his many projects. He successfully reorganized our music library and recruited and helped supervised student workers for the many band events we have hosted. He is a fine player and has significantly improved his playing and helped others as well. He has performed successfully in multiple events at District and State Solo and Ensemble Festivals. and performed several solos with the bands at several performances including the Michigan Music Conference. He plans on attending Central Michigan University and studying Instrumental Music Education.

Aiden Blankenship Manor New Technology High School, Manor, TX. Class of 2020. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Christopher Thomsen. Aiden Blankenship is an exceptional musician, student, and human being. He became our school's first drum major as we recently launched our program in 2019. He has earned Division I's at the state level all four years of high school and shows integrity, character, and passion in everything he does.

Amanda Botto Gray's Creek High School Band, Hope Mills, NC. Class of 2020. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Thomas Stovall. Amanda served as the 2019-2020 Gray's Creek High School Drum Major. She also excelled on her clarinet in concert band where she placed into All County and All District Band. Her leadership abilities among her peers and her work ethic made her uniquely qualified to receive this award. She plans to major in music education upon graduation.

James Bowker Merrimack Valley High School, Concord, NH. Class of 2020. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Pamela Choinski. James is an exceptional and dedicated trumpet player. He participated in all aspects of the MVHS band program and was accepted into all of New Hampshire's All State ensembles his senior year (Chamber All State, Jazz All State, and All State Band).

Caleb Bredemeier Lewiston Consolidated School, Lewsiton, NE. Class of 2020. Instrument: Percussion , Director: Megan Voorhis. Caleb is a leader in his graduating class as well as in the band. He shows great dedication and passion within the arts.

Keith Brent Clear Creek High School, Evergreen, CO. Class of 2020. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Madeleine Cort. Keith is an outstanding musician in the Clear Creek High School Band. In his years with the ensemble he has played principal clarinet, lead tenor saxophone in jazz band, multiple instruments in the pit orchestra for the musical, learned piano, served as a leader within the ensemble, and was always willing to do more for the good of the whole. Keith also auditioned and was accepted into the 2020 Colorado All State Band and performed for several years in the West Metro Honor Band.

Ainsley Brown Maypearl High School, Maypearl, TX. Class of 2020. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Dallas Dees. Ainsley Brown was a drum major her senior year. She was a regular competitor as a soloist in the band in Solo-Ensemble competition. Ainsley restarted the Winterguard, writing the show and teaching the members her senior year. She was also a 3 year member of the TWU Pioneer Honor Band.

Fredrick Brown Trinity Presbyterian School, Montgomery, AL. Class of 2022. Instrument: Euphonium, Director: Hannah Rose Atkins.

Chrysta Bruns West Hancock High School, Britt, IA. Class of 2020. Instrument: Contra Alto Clarinet, Director: Jennifer Rosin. Chrysta has been a leader in our band program all throughout high school, participating in concert, marching, pep, and jazz band. She has been a 2 year All State Band member and has participated in multiple honor bands throughout her high school career.

Brianna Bryant Fayette Academy, Somervfille, TN. Class of 2020. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Hunter Farley. Brianna is not only a fantastic player and musician, but one of the greatest leaders the program has had. She served as field commander for the Fayette Academy Marching Band for two years and won many awards during the marching season. She was also the principal trumpet and leader for the Fayette Academy Wind Ensemble which received straight 1's in the regional concert festival. The first time the school has done this since 2012. With her great leadership and musicianship, the marching band has also been invited to the 2021 Independence Day Parade for the first time in school history.

Megan Burghdorf Middletown Area High School, Middletown, PA. Class of 2020. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Samuel K Fisher. Megan participated in NAfME All National Concert Band twice, All East Orchestra once, and PMEA All State ensembles three times. She was in Region Band and Orchestra three years, District Orchestra 3 years, and District Band 6 years. She was a frequent soloist within our band program, and served as Drum Major during her senior year.

Eliud Caballero Mile High Academy, Highlands Ranch, CO. Class of 2022. Instrument: Bb Trumpet, Director: Esther E. Avilés. This student is an outstanding player who has an amazing range! He is new to our school this year, and it has been a pleasure to watch his technique grow!

Jeremy Cain Trinity High School Band, Trinity, NC. Class of 2020. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Joshua Dickens. Jeremy is highly devoted, loyal and respectful of our Band program. He has been for 5 years now. The music has touched his soul in a deep way. He love music for music's sake. That is why he is receiving this award.

Cammy Calton Pasco High School , Dade City, Florida. Class of 2020. Instrument: Bassoon/Saxophone/Clarinet, Director: Kyle Spence.

Damyenn Cardenas Pueblo Central High School, Pueblo, CO. Class of 2020. Instrument: Tuba, Director: Carolyn Morrison. Damyenn was a fearless drum major this year. His biggest strength is that he is the heart of our band. He is always looking out and caring for others, he always puts the needs of others before his own. He is an outstanding leader, and was voted for this award by both students and staff of the Central Marching Band.

Cole Carney Chaparral High School, Scottsdale, AZ. Class of 2020. Instrument: Alto Saxophone, Director: Jennifer Mireau. Wind Ensemble for four years. Participated in Pit Orchestra and Solo & Ensemble Festival. All-Region Honor Band Senior Year.

Elizabeth Carpenter Archbishop John Carroll High School, Radnor, PA. Class of 2020. Instrument: Flute/Piccolo, Director: Zach Larimer. Liz was an exceptional flute and piccolo player and contributed selflessly to the Band program. She was involved in almost every ensemble offered and contributed so much to the overall sound of the Band.

William Robert Carpenter Winter Park High School, Winter Park, FL. Class of 2020. Instrument: Tuba , Director: Michael Clemente. William Carpenter was an outstanding member of the Winter Park High School band including the Marching Band and Wind Symphony. Hie earned positions in the All State and All County Bands and superior ratings for solo tuba solos at MPA.

Dylan Carter Pinnacle Charter High School, Thornton, CO. Class of 2020. Instrument: Bass Guitar/Euphonium/Tuba, Director: ZACH GARCIA. Dylan Carter will be going to college to pursue music professionally on his instrument of choice, the bass guitar. Should this not pan out (as music is obviously not the most reliable career path for steady work), he will also have a backup plan in the form of computer science. Regardless of the work, Dylan will always maintain a love of music and doesn't see himself ever giving up on playing.

Raul Castro Katella High School, Anaheim, CA. Class of 2020. Instrument: Alto Saxophone, Director: Dylan Harlan. Raul Castro is a very talented musician. His hard work and strong musical background have helped develop him into a strong piano player and saxophonist. Raul is also a natural student leader and kind person to work with.

Jasmine Caswell Seymour High School, Seymour, MO. Class of 2020. Instrument: Flute, Director: Caroline Collins. Jasmine truly embodies everything this award stands for. She has been an amazing student leader and drum major during her senior year. Jasmine plans to serve in the medical field.

Tiffany Chao West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South, Princeton Junction, NJ. Class of 2020. Instrument: Oboe, Director: Jesse Argenziano. Tiffany is one of the most exceptional musicians I have encountered in my teaching career. She has one multiple concerto competitions, and is a 4-year all state band/orchestra member.

Preston joined band in the 6th grade playing baritone, and also learned to play trombone in high school. He has participated in marching band, pep band, jazz band, and concert band.

Evan Cohagan Argos Jr Sr High School, Argos, IN. Class of 2020. Instrument: Euphonium , Director: Austin Mills. Evan has been a dedicated musician during my time here at Argos. Evan has participated in Concert band, Pep band, Marching Band, and Jazz band while also competing at Solo and Ensemble competition each year. He has shown himself to be an outstanding leader and is quick to keep his peers going with a joke or two. He has been great to have in the classroom and on the stage.

Logan Collier Metairie Park Country Day School, Metairie, LA. Class of 2020. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Katie Antis. Logan is an outstanding trumpet player with a beautiful and clear tone. He played in the Country Day Band from 4th grade-12th grade. He participated in honor bands and contributed to the school band at the highest level and with a great deal of integrity. Logan always strived to be the best he could be so that the band would be the best it could be.

Allison Combs Harrison County High School, Cynthiana, KY. Class of 2020. Instrument: French Horn, Director: John Merz. Allison is an outstanding French Horn player who was selected to perform with the 2020 KY All-State Symphony Orchestra. She also plays the piano and will be attending the University of Kentucky to pursue degrees in Arts Administration and Music Education.

Samuel Cooper Layton High School, Layton, UT. Class of 2020. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Jim Follett. Sam qualified for the all-state band as a sophomore, junior and senior. He also played saxophone, bassoon, and oboe our second concert band. Sam always lead by example and helped those around him to improve.

Matt Crawford North Mac High School, Virden, IL. Class of 2020. Instrument: Trombone, Director: Ms. Sarah Kline. Matt Crawford was 1st chair trombone in North Mac HS Band this previous year. He has been involved in band for many years and showed great dedication to the band and to his own musical growth. North Mac is very proud of Matt!

Kali Crist Burnet High School, Burnet, TX. Class of 2020. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Andrew Hicks. Kali Crist served the Burnet High School Band for four years as an All-State Clarinetist and Head Drum Major for the Burnet High School Esprit De Corps. Kali attends Blinn College in Brenham, TX for Music Education. Congrats Kali!

Sonny Cruz Waco HS Band, Waco, TX. Class of 2020. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Scott Stulir. Sony Cruz was four time Texas Music Educators Association Jazz Band award winner and one time TMEA all region Band member and two time TSSEC Division ONE medalist. Sonny was the Waco HS Drumline captain for the 2018, and 2019 Marching season as well as the wind ensemble percussion section leader.

Skye Dameron San Marcos High School , Santa Barbara, CA. Class of 2021. Instrument: Flute, Director: Michael Kiyoi. Skye Dameron is our principal flute player and has been for three years. She is a three year SB Unified All District Honor Band musician (soon to be four years), member of the Concert Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra and featured soloist in Marching Band.

Gabriel Daniels Bonny Eagle High School, Standish, ME. Class of 2020. Instrument: French Horn, Director: Kathryne Kennedy. Gabe was an active member of the high school band starting from his Freshman year to the culmination of his Senior year. He was a leader in the ensemble and often motivated his peers both musically and socially. He took almost all music classes offered at Bonny Eagle High School and excelled musically in all of them - most of all composition. Gabe has a talent and gift for music that I hope he continues to nourish throughout the rest of his life.

Damien De La Cruz Foy H. Moody High School, Corpus Christi, TX. Class of 2020. Instrument: Tuba, Director: Jose A. Villarreal. Mr. De La Cruz showed excellent leadership skills that went above and beyond while serving as sectional leader, uniform manager. He was also a member of the mariachi and choir programs. Mr. De La Cruz was earned numerous awards including TMEA Region and Area auditions, Region and State UIL Solo & Ensemble First Division ratings as a soloist and member of an ensemble for both the band and choir programs. Mr. De La Cruz plans to pursue a degree in Music Education.

Courtney Derricks Scott Central Attendance Center, Forest, MS. Class of 2020. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Kathleen Riser. Courtney served as SC drum captain and student conductor. He will be attending Mississippi College majoring in music education.

Jacob Detrinidad St Paul High School, Santa Fe Springs, CA. Class of 2021. Instrument: Clarinet and Saxophone, Director: Luigi Cilloniz. Jacob is a current junior and has been in band since sophomore year. He is grateful to his band director and family for helping him obtain the award.

Nate Deuel Flathead High School, Kalispell, MT. Class of 2020. Instrument: Clarinet, Piano, Alto Sax, & Trumpet, Director: David Johnke. Nate Deuel is incredibly humble about his musical interests, talents, and abilities. He is an accomplished pianist and an up and coming composer. His music accomplishments throughout his high school career include: 1st chair and 1st clarinet in Symphonic Band (2018-2020); Clarinet section leader (2019-2020); 2019 Montana All-State Band; 1st chair trumpet in Concert Band (2019-2020); lead alto saxophone in Jazz I (2019-2020); present at most pep band games throughout his high school career, often being the loudest male cheering voice and the loudest clarinet with great tone to boot (2016-2020)!

Andrew DiAngelo Valley Forge High School, Parma Heights, OH. Class of 2020. Instrument: Tenor Saxophone/Sousaphone, Director: Kristopher Morron. Drew DiAngelo is a graduate of Valley Forge, where he became a proud leader and friend of the Valley Forge Marching Patriots. Drew was also a musician in the Cleveland Youth Wind Symphony and All-Ohio State Fair Band, guided by his friend and mentor, Kris Morron, Class of 1996.

Trescege Ramirez Diaz Foster High School, Tukwila, WA. Class of 2020. Instrument: Saxophone, Director: Cody Maynor. Trescege has been an integral leader in our program the entire time she has been at Foster High School. During her time at Foster, Trescege actively participated in our concert, jazz, and pep band as well as our saxophone quartet that performed for community events. Trescege will be studying at the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington starting in the fall, eventually opening a small business with her sister.

Instrument: Alto Saxophone/ Tenor Saxophone/ Baritone Saxophone, Clarinet, Piano. Director: Ray Galela. Darren served as principal saxophone in Symphonic Band and as lead tenor in Jazz Band. As a member of jazz band Darren received Outstanding Soloist Awards at area jazz competitions all 4 years in high school. As band council member and Band President Darren was a leader in class rehearsals, performances and events which was instrumental in the Unanimous Superior marks received by the Symphonic Band.

Darren attended Hillgrove High School for two years and then transferred to Mount Paran where he was a member of the concert band (principal) and marching band (woodwind captain) while also taking music production classes and AP music theory. In high school he was a member of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Metro Atlanta Wind Ensemble. In addition, Darren was a member of the GMEA All-State Band all four years of high school, the GMEA Honor Band for five consecutive years, and a participant in the UGA JanFest for two years. He is a talented clarinetist who plans to study music in college.

Anthony Alfred Lira Douglas MacArthur High School, San Antonio, TX. Class of 2020. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Evan Berry. Alfred Lira (known by the directors and friends simply as "Anthony") was a 3-time Texas All-State musician, placed third in the entire state of Texas in the All-State top orchestra as a senior, was the Brass-Captain as a junior, a drum major and featured soloist as a senior, member of the Genesis Drum and Bugle Corps, four-year member and soloist for the top wind-ensemble at MacArthur, and will be pursuing a career in music as a music education major at Texas Tech University. Anthony is the most influential leader for the MacArthur Band Program of this generation, but his success and accolades are only possible because of his relentless work ethic and character. His twin brother, Aaron Lira, is the other recipient for this special award this year, as it is impossible to decide between the two.

He has been a general in the Marching Band as well as an award-winning double bass player in the school Jazz Band. Students look up to Evert as an example of how a leader and band student should be. He is the first one to arrive, the last one to leave, and never complains. He is affectionately called the "Band Mom," because of his care for the band room, music, and other students.

Kenneth is a student who has been a part of the band program since 5th grade. He earned a Superior Ratings at marching competitions as both Drum Major and Drum Captain. He also participated in the SEUS Honor Band. He is attending Troy University as a Music Major and is a member of the Sound of the South and their Symphonic Band.

Fabrizio is an outstanding saxophonist who is eager to expand on his knowledge and technique on his instrument. This year Fabrizio has took every opportunity to engage in the arts from All-State performances to music workshops with visiting art school Celia Cruz High School of Music in New York City. Fabrizio has a natural talent on his instrument and wants to be placed in positions where he can refine his gift. I have no doubt that Fabirizo will grow up to be a fine musician!

Jack Rork is the Brass Captain of the 2019-2020 Colleyville Heritage Panther Band from Colleyville, TX. Trey's charisma and care are a large part of his class' and bands' success over the years. Trey has been an active member of the marching band, wind ensemble, jazz ensemble, & theatre productions at school. Some but not all merits include: 3x Drum Major, Honor Band, Golds at Regional and State Solo & Ensemble, Lead Roles in the school musicals. Trey plans to attend The Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University to pursue a degree in Music Education and Bassoon! Trey hopes to make a difference in the world through fine arts!

Jalen has performed on several instruments, always willing to learn what the band needs. David has been an outstanding contributor to the Fishers Island School Band for his full high school career. In addition, David has earned many personal achievements in music, sports, and academics. Truman Soderborg Dayton High School, Dayton, NV. Class of 2020. Instrument: Baritone/Tuba, Director: Joshua Strickland. Truman is a four year member of the DHS band. In his time with the band, he has truly grown into a great human being and a better musician. His level of commitment and loyalty to our band program has always been through the roof. He never refused that which was asked of him, including switching from his main instrument(baritone) in his senior year, to tuba to help our band when it was in need. He is a valuable asset and will be truly missed.

She plays flute, piccolo, alto and tenor saxophone, and occasionally helps in the percussion section. She also enjoys helping younger band students in the elementary school band program. Isaac Upshaw Stockdale High School Band, Stockdale, TX. Class of 2020. Instrument: Tuba, Director: Theresa O'Canas. Isaac was a UIL All-State soloist and an Association of Small School Bands All-State tuba player in Texas. He held was the low brass section leader as well as the band librarian and Drum Major.

Wendy Urquilla Lancaster Baptist School, Lancaster, CA. Class of 2020. Instrument: Flute, Director: Andrea Lizarde. She is an amazing student that works hard to be a leader in the band. Throughout her high school years, she was example to the other flute students, and also to the other students in the band.

Joe Utagawa St. Mary's International School, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo. Class of 2020. Instrument: Violin, Director: Kristel Tretter. Joe has been a dedicated member of the St. Mary's Concert band for many years. He also took on student directing and assisting with the middle school band. Joe strives for excellence in his music and is a role model for all musicians at St. Marys.

Lily Vierling La Jolla High School, La Jolla, CA. Class of 2020. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Aaron Mulder. Lily has demonstrated personal courage and dedication to the La Jolla Marching Band, even through its difficult times. She sets an example and raises the bar for all those who follow her. Virgis Vinson Liberty High School, Youngstown, OH. Class of 2020. Instrument: Alto Saxophone, Director: Michael Summers. While in band Virgis was a Band Officer, Section Leader, participated in Solo & Ensemble, Kent State All Star Band, and was a member of the Tri-M Music Honors Society.

Aric Vance Wade North Daviess Jr/Sr HS, Elnora, IN. Class of 2020. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Jeffrey W. VanderMel. Aric participated jazz band, pep band, marching band and concert band, serving as section leader his Junior and Senior years and was lead snare on drumline. Aric has been in the top 10 of his graduating class and on the honor roll all 4 years. Aric plans to attend Lincoln Christian University and major in Biblical Studies and minor in Apologetics in hopes of becoming a pastor.

Gabriella Wagner Buena Vista High School, Buena Vista, CO. Class of 2020. Instrument: flute and piccolo, Director: Marti Bott. Gabriella has been an integral part of the Buena Vista High School all 4 year of her high school career, and she plays flute and piccolo. She has been a student conductor/drum major, a band teaching assistant, and has participated in multiple honor bands.

Akira Walls Canal Winchester HS, Canal Winchester, OH. Class of 2020. Instrument: Flute, Director: Chad Mcgee. Akira was a member of our Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, and our flute section leader. She will be attending Capital University, majoring in Music Education.

Gabriel Washburn Colon Community Schools, Colon, MI. Class of 2020. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Brenden Hoekstra. Gaberiel is deserving of this national award for his musicianship, consistent participation, and enthusiastic approach to band and interactions with his peers.

Christina Weaver Kent Island High School, Stevensville, MD. Class of 2020. Instrument: French Horn, Director: Kimberly Mogensen. Christina has participated in every ensemble available to her at Kent Island HS and she has set an exceptional example of musicianship and leadership in all of them.

Katelynn Weaver Midview High School, Grafton, OH. Class of 2020. Instrument: Alto Saxophone, Director: Joshua Brunger. Katelynn has been a very strong saxophonist her entire grade school career. Her work ethic and practice habits made her a leader in the Midview Band program. She is an overall solid musician with the capabilities of performing amazing solos both Classical and Jazz. She is truly a special musician and very deserving of this honor.

Ryan Whitaker Spanish Fork High School, Spanish Fork, UT. Class of 2020. Instrument: Percussion/Bass, Director: Cris Stiles. Ryan is a wonderful musician. He started out as a die hard member of the junior high orchestra but found his way to band through percussion. He has successfully performed with every ensemble at Spanish Fork High School and is continuing on in music at the University of Utah.

Emily Elizabeth White Highland High School Marengo, Marengo, OH. Class of 2020. Instrument: Tuba, Oboe, Guitar, Alto & Tenor Sax, Director: Amy Arnett-Tomasek. Emily Elizabeth White is a phenomenal musician. Not only does she excel in a performance aspect, she also excels as a music repair woman. Emily is one of the most dedicated people I have ever met. She puts her all into every project she tackles.

Richard Wise William Workman High School, City of Industry, CA. Class of 2020. Instrument: Trombone, Director: Timothy McElearney. Richard has shown a great commitment to his own educational growth. He has a passion for music, and stands out above the rest as a student, a performer, and a person. As a Section Leader and Brass Captain, he has maintained a great atmosphere in his section, where students understand his high expectations and realize that he is demanding because he cares and wants them to succeed in music and, more importantly, in life. Richard serves as a role model for the other students. He is the President of the band’s student council, and he has dedicated a lot of his spare time to the program, helping our ensembles reach their highest potential.

Abby Williams-Martin Station Camp High School, Gallatin, TN. Class of 2020. Instrument: Bassoon, Clarinet, Keyboard, Director: Jim Reed. Abby served as clarinet section leader from 2018-2020. She also received the most outstanding musician award in all 4 grades during high school.

Mira Wooley Beachwood High School, Beachwood, OH. Class of 2020. Instrument: Percussion and Trumpet, Director: David Luddington. Mira is a 4 year member of the Beachwood High School Band and in that time played Trumpet, Bass Drum, and Snare Drum in the Marching Band. In her Senior year she provided outstanding leadership in our organization as the Band Council President.
