Jamison Adams Bailey Junior High School, Arlington, TX. Class of 2026. Instrument: French Horn, Director: Ken Callaway.

Nathan Adams Manhattan Christian School, Manhattan, MT. Class of 2023. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Daniel Chausse. As only a Junior, Nathan continues to improve and impress with his skill and dedication to the trumpet. He received a superior rating for his trumpet solo this year, and will compete at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in San Antonio in June.

Kaden Adamson Somerset Academy Charter High, Homestead, FL. Class of 2022. Instrument: French Horn, Mellophone, Trumpet, Guitar, Director: Juan Turros. Multi-instrumentalist Kaden Adamson has been a fixture in our school's band, The Stallion Battalion, since his middle school years. A devoted musician, he has recently added the trumpet and guitar to his musical arsenal. He is also an accomplished soloist, both in the classical and jazz idioms. Daniel Akers Seymour, Seymour, MO. Class of 2022. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Caroline Collins. Daniel is a prime example of what a Seymour Band student should be like. This student has consistently demonstrated maturity beyond their years, exemplary musicianship, and overall character. He will be joining the Marines.

Edwin Avalos Jacksboro High School, Jacksboro, TX. Class of 2022. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Patrick Flaniken. Edwin has served as section leader (clarinet) and drum major. His leadership has been invaluable for our band. 

Alejandra Avalos-Belloso Faith West Academy, Katy, TX. Class of 2022. Instrument: Trombone, Director: Kim Maxwell. Alejandra is an amazing musician who is dedicated to the craft of music. She has shown great leadership and dedication throughout her years at Faith West and recognizes and recognizes and appreciates the positive impact of Band has had on her life. Hannah Azores Lancaster Baptist School, Lancaster, CA. Class of 2022. Instrument: Flute, Director: Tracy Dizon.

Deven Tre'von Bailey Clinton High School, Clinton, SC. Class of 2022. Instrument: Saxophone, Director: Kolman McMurphy. Deven is a fantastic musician and leader in the Clinton Band Program. He is a composer, arranger, soloist, and improviser, who leads the band by example in concert, marching, and jazz bands. Deven plans to study jazz and music composition at the university level.

Dustin Baker Northern Garrett High School, Accident, MD. Class of 2023. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Elizabeth Green. Dustin has displayed exemplary dedication and determination in his musical achievement and as a leader in our concert and marching bands. Dustin is also working on his Eagle Scout project to outfit the marching band and choir with sound systems. He inspires his peers to go above and beyond in their efforts towards musical excellence.

Kenneth Bandian El Camino High School, South San Francisco, CA. Class of 2022. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Ray Galela. Kenneth served as principal trumpet in symphonic band and solo chair in jazz band. As a member of jazz band Kenneth received acknowledgement for his outstanding solos and jazz arrangements at area jazz competitions his freshman and senior year, (so. and junior year were the COVID years.). As band council member and Band President Kenneth was a leader in class rehearsals, performances and events and was instrumental to the bands success.

Elijah Bass Leo Junior/Senior High School, Leo, IN. Class of 2022. Instrument: Saxophone, Director: Jordan Black. Born in Harlan, Indiana and graduated Leo High School in 2022. Was the drum major there for 3 years, jazz band for 6 years, and marching band for 5 years. Attending Purdue University for Aerospace Engineering, Astrophysics, and Planetary Sciences.

Rachel Baumgartner Southern Wells Community Schools, Poneto, IN. Class of 2022. Instrument: Euphonium, Director: Michael Haigh.

Megan Beard Sheets Memorial Christian School, Lexington, NC. Class of 2022. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Paul Sprouse. Megan has been in the school's band program since 5th grade. She has filled the roles asked of her every year and has learned to lead the trumpet section by example with hard work and a willingness to try.

Merilee Behrendsen Willard High School, Willard, OH. Class of 2022. Instrument: Flute, Director: Christian Watson. Merilee Behrendsen graduated from Willard High School in 2022. During her time with the band, she served as Field Commander and Flute Section Leader. She received multiple Superior ratings at OMEA Solo & Ensemble Adjudicated Event, and helped propel the Willard Flashes Band to their first Superior Rating at OMEA State District Large Group Adjudicated Event.

Bradi Bell Mauston High School, Mauston, WI. Class of 2022. Instrument: Trombone, Director: Brittany Schroeder.

Samuel Bennett Syracuse High School, Syracuse, NE. Class of 2023. Instrument: trombone, Director: Brandy Hall. As drum major of the Rocket Marching Band, 1st chair trombone in both Symphonic Band and Velocity Jazz Ensemble, plus first chair trombone in Nebraska Class B All State Symphonic Band, Sam is a strong force in our music program.

Emily Bielman Riverside Polytechnic High School Bands, Riverside, CA. Class of 2022. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Arwen Hernandez.

Julia Blazek Republic County High School, Belleville, KS. Class of 2022. Instrument: Tenor Saxophone, Director: Ryan Nelson. Julia has been a drum major of the Marching Buffs for two years. She has been a leader while participating in jazz band, concert band, and marching band. An outstanding musician who is very worthy of this award.

Mallory Blevins Ledford Senior High School, Thomasville, NC. Class of 2022. Instrument: Flute, Director: Angel M Gonzalez III. Mallory made an impression on our program from the moment she got to high school. Her passion for the program led her to principal chairs in our top ensembles, All- County and All-District honor band placements and All-State eligibility. Mallory also served as drum major her senior year.

Adam Van Boerum Fountain Valley High School, Fountain Valley, CA. Class of 2022. Instrument: Bassoon, Director: Maxwell Lowe. Adam Van Boerum is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and performer. He served as woodwind captain for the Fountain Valley Royal Regiment. He will be pursuing a Music Education major and will be attending Orange Coast College in the fall of 2022. Prior to that, he will be performing as a percussionist with the Gold Drum and Bugle Corps of San Diego, California.

Remington Bolton Southeastern High School, Augusta, IL. Class of 2022. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Brian Cooley. Remi has been a percussionist all 4 years of high school. He started playing the drums in 5th grade at Southeastern Elementary. He not only helps with the band, but also helps run sound and tech for the school musicals. He has a great work ethic and is always willing to help Mr. Cooley with any project.

Tatianna Braxton Mathews High School, Mathews, VA. Class of 2022. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Tim Fary Jr. Tatianna Braxton will be attending Longwood University to study Music Education in the fall of 2022. Tatianna is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with experience in Concert Band, String Orchestra, Mixed Chorus and Jazz Band. Tatianna led the marching band as Drum Major and is excited to pursue her career as a music educator.

Thomas Brigham Westminster Christian School, Palmetto Bay, FL. Class of 2022. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Seth M. Carlson. Tommy has a heart of gold. He show the Sousa spirit by encouraging others around him, and his musical talent inspires his colleagues.

Gabriel Brooks Minot High School, Minot, ND. Class of 2022. Instrument: Oboe, Director: Evan Meiers. Recipient of many prestigious awards and recognitions, Gabriel has been studying oboe for 8 years demonstrating his passion and excellence in music.

Aryn Brown Roswell High School, Roswell, NM. Class of 2022. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Dr. Daniel Gomez. Aryn is pursuing a degree from New Mexico State in secondary education.

Colin Brown Canyon del Oro High School, Tucson, AZ. Class of 2022. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Ranee Schmuker. Colin was awarded the JPS award for 2022 in recognition of his outstanding musical work ethic, and advanced dedication to his individual musical growth, and growth of any program his is affiliated with or within.

Morgan Bumgardner Dayton High School, Dayton, NV. Class of 2023. Instrument: Euphonium, Director: Joshua Strickland. Morgan is a 3-year member of the Dayton High School Dust Devil Band. Morgan has shown through his commitment and dedication to the band program that he is more than deserving of this award. He consistently puts forth his best effort in not just his music, but in his every day life. He is a vital and important part of this musical ensemble.

Camden Bunker Bemidji High School, Bemidji, MN. Class of 2022. Instrument: Baritone Saxophone, Director: Derek Wickum. Camden is an outstanding band student involved in all aspects of the high school band program. Camden is an All-State representative of Bemidji High School in the jazz program. He is also section leader for the saxophones, pit orchestra member, orchestra member, marching band member, Drum Major and part of the student leadership team.

Evan Burns Minneapolis High School, Minneapolis, KS. Class of 2022. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Dennis Brooks.

Kaley Burr West County High School, Parkhills, MO. Class of 2022. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Darren Cordray. Kaley has been a member of the West County Band program since her 6th grade year. She has been a 4 year member of our district honor band and has made Honorable Mention in the MO all-state band.

RaineyAnne Burroughs Bradford Preparatory School, Charlotte, NC. Class of 2022. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Justin Austenfeld. RaineyAnne has been a huge advocate for the growth of the band program here at our school. Her dedication to our ensemble’s growth, her representation of our school at events outside our school, and her investment in starting our pep band have made her an essential member of our ensemble.

Jahleel Butler Saluda High School, Saluda, SC. Class of 2022. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Mark Romano. Jahleel was a 6 year member of the marching band and percussion captain for 3 years, made region band twice and auditioned for South Carolina All-State band. He was awarded a substantial scholarship to Newberry college. 

John Cabell Maggie L Walker Governor's School, Richmond, VA. Class of 2022. Instrument: Oboe, Director: Nicholas Merillat. John Cabell is studying music at Boston University. He is interested in music education, conducting, and performance. John was a member of All-District and All-Virginia Band during his time at Maggie Walker.

Kaitlyn Calderwood North Tama County Community Schools, Traer, IA. Class of 2022. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Channing Halstead.

Lane Cantrell Hamilton High SAchool, Hamilton, TX. Class of 2022. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Asa Hamilton. Lane has always been the leader of his pack. His preference has always been to work behind the scenes (with the exception of his performances), but his main priority was to those above himself. Lane would always make sure the performances and presentations of the Fighting Bulldog Band were always left unmatched.

Andrew Caro Keys Gate Charter High School, Homestead, FL. Class of 2022. Instrument: Trumpet and Trombone, Director: Joy Harden. Andrew is a gifted musician on many instruments, and his future potential is recognized by many among our music staff and students. He is a strong, yet kind leader and teacher who would be able to inspire others with his passion and talent. He has a good head for theory, and a great heart for ensemble performance. At this time he plans to pursue music education as a career, and I'm excited to share the universal baton with him.

Chiara Caucci The Sacred Heart School of Montreal, Montreal, Quebec. Class of 2022. Instrument: Trombone, Alto Saxophone, Director: Aran Waldbrook. This student has gone above and beyond in both learning to play her instrument(s) and in her support of the ensembles in which she has been a member for the past 5 years. Chiara strives for excellence and achieves it.

Valarie Cerveny Gresham Community School District, Gresham, WI. Class of 2022. Instrument: Flute, Director: Sierra Sargent. Val is the epitome of a well-rounded student. Beyond our band classroom, she is involved in FFA, is a multi-sport athlete, and is quick to volunteer to help where help is needed. It has been an honor to work with Val over the last year, as she has been a strong leader in band. We wish her the best of luck in all future endeavors, and hope she stays involved in music further in life.

Regina Ciampoli Hackettstown High School, Hackettstown, NJ. Class of 2022. Instrument: Trombone/Bass Guitar/Drum Major, Director: Adam Freeman. Regina Ciampoli was a member of the wind ensemble, jazz band, jazz combo, pit orchestra, indoor drumline, drum major of the marching band and student conductor of the concert band. Regina led her fellow band students on many occasions and embodies the ultimate spirit of a band leader.

Addison Clark Neuse Charter School, Smithfield, NC. Class of 2022. Instrument: Tenor Saxophone, Director: Leah M Williams. Addison is an amazing musician. She has been in numerous honors bands including; All-District, All-State, and the UNCP Honors band even through COVID. She tutors other saxophone players in her spare time. Addison is always asking to help and serve the band in any way she can.

Mattew Cook Provo High School, Provo, UT. Class of 2022. Instrument: Trumpet and Horn, Director: Deven Hacomb. Matthew started high school as a trumpet player, but soon added Horn to meet the needs of the band. Helping others has been a pinnacle of Matt's high school band experience; winning a State Championship in 2019, serving in multiple roles in 2020, and as the Drum Major in 2021-22

Noah Cornaby Sahuarita High School, Sahuarita, AZ. Class of 2022. Instrument: Bassoon, Saxophone, Piano, Marimba, Director: Thomas Cervenka. Noah Cornaby exemplifies the excellence of music at Sahuarita High School. Noah has played saxophone and bassoon in Wind Ensemble, piano in Jazz Band, marimba in Indoor Percussion, and was the Head Drum Major for Marching Band.

Katlynn Cox Clayton High School, Clayton, OK. Class of 2023. Instrument: Flute, Director: Brandon Hendrix. Katlynn Cox is a talented flute player from Clayton, Oklahoma. She continues to be a valuable member of Clayton High School band through participation in concert performances and contests.

Evan Craciun Valley Christian School, Spokane Valley, WA. Class of 2022. Instrument: Alto saxophone, Director: Mrs. Liz Craciun. Evan has been committed to band and to pursuing musical excellence at VCS since his 5th grade year. In addition to excelling at saxophone (alto and tenor), he is also proficient on guitar, bass, and cajon with our high school worship team. He is a strong student leader, and as valedictorian of his class, also exemplary in academics.

Nathan Allen Craig John S. Battle High School, Bristol, VA. Class of 2022. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Mark Collins Sr.. Nathan Craig is a 2022 graduate of John S. Battle High School. He will be pursuing a music education degree and in the marching band at East Tennessee state university in the fall.

Kienen Creek Lewiston Consolidated School, Lewiston, NE. Class of 2022. Instrument: Percussion , Director: Megan Voorhis. Performed in the Lewiston band for 8 years. Was a section leader for two years. Performed numerous solos for concerts, contests, and pep band gigs. Was a leader in the marching band. Lead the marching band in the state fair parade in 2019 and 2021.

David Crose Venus High School, Venus, TX. Class of 2022. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Ross Langdon. David is an amazing student! He has been our Drum Major the past 2 years, 1st chair clarinet player in our top ensemble, made the All-Region Band on clarinet, plays saxophone in both the Jazz Band and our Symphonic Band.

Ethan Cruz Canyon Lake High School, Fischer, TX. Class of 2022. Instrument: Trombone, Director: Ed Gonzales, Caleb Hoffmann. Ethan motivates everyone around him to become a better version of themselves. His positive outlook and attitude are infectious and motivating to everyone around his (staff included) and makes even the most intense situations a little more bearable. He's an outstanding musician and leader.

Sam Daniels Jesuit High school, Carmichael, CA . Class of 2022. Instrument: Trombone, Director: John Cargile. Sam was an integral member of our marching band’s leadership team, Jazz Band, Symphonic Band and Symphony Orchestra. If there was any opportunity to play across his four years, he jumped at it. The band is indebted to his example leading us out of the pandemic.

Baily Darrell Highland Academy, Portland, TN. Class of 2024. Instrument: Alto Sax, Director: Haroldo Alvarez. Baily has been playing since 5th grade. She is a solid player with an increasing awareness of her instrument and good playing techniques.

Miles Davies Venice High School, Los Angeles, CA. Class of 2022. Instrument: Horn in F/Mellophone, Director: David W. Lee.

Alice Davis Kent Island High School, Stevensville, MD. Class of 2022. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Kim Mogensen. Alice has been a member of every ensemble available to her at Kent Island HS. She has been one of the most dedicated, passionate, and talented students in each ensemble. Her influence will have lasting impacts on the future of the program.

Brody Davis Crest High Concert Band, Shelby, NC. Class of 2022. Instrument: Barisaxophone, Director: Bonnie Scruggs. This student has gone above the requirements of a student. He was in all extra-curricular band activities, along with staying after school to make sure the band had everything they needed. Great Student, Great Musician.

Sarina Davis Troy Christian Schools, Troy, OH. Class of 2022. Instrument: Flute, Director: Larry Kennon.

Christian Deem Parkersburg H. S. Big Red Band, Parkersburg, WV. Class of 2022. Instrument: Tuba, Trombone, Euphonium, Director: Daniel B. White. Christian made WV All State Band 10, 11 and his 12 grade years. He has taken private lesson from Rocky and Sheila Wiseman on Tuba, Bass Trombone and Euphonium. He has attended at least three honor band a year since his 9th grade year in High School. He will be going to OU in Athens, Ohio for music education.

Abigail DeJesus McGregor High School, McGregor, TX. Class of 2022. Instrument: French Horn, Director: Tim Grace. Abigail is an All-State French Horn player who is also a very good guitar player for the Howlin' Dog Jazz Band. She Served the McGregor Bulldog Pride band as Head Drum Major for the 2021-2022 year as a senior. She will be attending Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi in the fall and majoring in Music Industry.

Kendall Desporte Saint Stanislaus College, Bay St. Louis, MS. Class of 2022. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Daniel Rorabaugh. Kendall has been an exceptional performer and leader in his years at St. Stanislaus. In addition to serving as battery captain, he picked up bass and piano and been as a key member of the SSC jazz band. Kendall plans to continue making music at the University of Southern Mississippi as he begins his undergrad.

Nathalia Diaz-Perez Avant Garde Academy of Broward, Hollywood, FL. Class of 2022. Instrument: Alto-Saxophone, Director: Marcos Rodriguez. Nathalia was one of the founding members of our program. After making numerous honors festival, she also continued with chorus. For the past 7 years, she has been a member of our top band, was Section Leader, Choir Co-Captain. She would eventually become Band Captain, our Student Conductor, and would direct the After School Women's Choir. She was also a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and various organizations with the school. Israel La Fleur learned under four head band directors, giving him a wise and unique insight on music education and instruction. He consistently served as a role model and positive presence in the band and his leadership helped keep the band improving throughout director changes, COVID, and innumerable other challenges.

Erin Lamotte North Country Union High School, Newport, VT. Class of 2022. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: William Prue. Played in the VT District II Festival three times, played in Veteran’s Day ceremonies, Pit Orchestras, football & basketball pep bands, performed with our band in Boston and with the Northeast Kingdom Wind Symphony in Derby. Her leadership shows through as Vice-President and as a multi-year section leader.

Ricky has participated in Marching Band for 4 years, Symphonic Band for 4 years, Jazz Band for 4 years and even had his own Rock Band Ricky and the Lee's. Caitlin Leek Warhill High School, Williamsburg, VA. Class of 2022. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: David Enloe. Caitlin Leek is a 4 time All District Band participant. She was a soloist in the marching band, and even learned how to do rifle and flag with our winter guard. Caitlin is an all around leader with the BEST attitude and outlook on band. James Christopher Lehman Baker School, Baker, FL. Class of 2022. Instrument: Saxophones, specializing on the Bari, Director: Stuart Campbell. James served as Drum Major 2020-2022. He earned Superior ratings at all marching festivals as Drum Major and a Best in Class Award. He also participated in Florida’s All State Honor Band, SEUS Honor Band at Troy, the University of Mobile Honor Band and Jazz band.

Luke has been a 4 year high school All District member and a 2 year All-State Band member. He was selected as an alternate to the Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts. She is the principal flute player for our concert band. Hayden has advanced greatly in her musical journey, even after a year out of band during which time we could not meet. Even though 2020 was a difficult year and band was not in session, she still proved to be a committed musician and showed tremendous advancement in her abilities this year.

Kacia Marie Moses Ticonderoga Junior/Senior High School, Ticonderoga, NY. Class of 2022. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Michael Iturrino. Kacia has performed with the Zone 6 Area All State concert band, the ECSMA concert band. She has performed on this stage with the ‘lil Big Band on tenor and bari saxophone and has, as of this year, picked up guitar and started performing on that. She currently is frontwoman of a local band “Ginger and the squids”, and plans on continuing her musical efforts beyond high school. This fall, she will be attending SUNY Potsdam studding creative writing.

When I, Timothy Turner, was out of school because of emergency back surgery, Sarah stepped up as the Student Conductor at a Band Competition and the Spring Concert. Eleanor Stoutz (Class of '22) from Steubenville Catholic Central High School is an extremely talented individual. Eloquent, driven, excellent marching ability, superior leadership skills and able to work with small or large groups effectively. She personally was responsible for teaching clarinet to and recruiting two people into the band program, enriching their lives and building the band program. As an upper classman, served as President of the Band and an extremely capable assistant to me, the band director. Besides music, she is talented in multiple performance - related arts. Kiersten Velasquez Horizon High School, Scottsdale, AZ. Class of 2022. Instrument: Clarinet, Director: Kyle Hollerbach. I have depended on Kiersten to help with the band so much and she has dedicated an incredible amount of her time and energy to our group. Over four years Kiersten has been a section leader, made honor band, sat first chair, held positions as secretary and president of band council and for the past two years has been Drum Major. Kiersten was a key leader through COVID and helped create the success our group has today. She has done all of this and continued to be an amazing student inside and outside of the classroom. Kiersten shows determination and drive in whatever she does and is a true leader. She never complained, even when I would push her. She has never run from any challenge that I have put in front of her and she always kept a high standard. Kiersten has shown superior leadership qualities, was always dependable, and extremely loyal.

Katherine has represented our school in many of the highest levels of honor bands in multiple states. She will be studying music post-secondary. Katherine has been a leader, a mentor and a strong citizen of our program and the school as a whole. Her passion for music shows in everything she performs.

Miya Xavier Argonaut High School, Jackson, CA. Class of 2022. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Naor Karkay Selea. Miya Xavier has been a long-time band student that has been wholly dedicated to music. Her desire for improvement and pursuit of a wonderful product is what allows her to be a stellar leader of this band. I am thankful to have had her in my bands for the past 4 years.

Trevor Yarborough Latta High School, Latta, SC. Class of 2022. Instrument: Euphonium, Director: Brady Moffett. Trevor is a 6-time member of the all-region band, a member of the honor band at the USC band clinic, a three-year member of our marching leadership team, and an outstanding young man. He will major in music education at the University of South Carolina. I’m forever proud of him.

Rayah Yehnert Edgewater High School, Orlando, FL. Class of 2022. Instrument: Flute, Director: Antonio R Figueroa Jr.. Student has serviced the band for 4 years. 2 years as Drum Major and has made the All-County Band in 2018 and 2021.

Caleb Yurasek Decatur High School, Decatur, TX. Class of 2022. Instrument: Percussion, Director: Eric McNiel.

Javin Zipkin Carlmont High School, Belmont, CA. Class of 2022. Instrument: Trumpet, Director: Brian Switzer. Javin Zipkin was accepted into the Carlmont Symphonic Band as a freshman. He played principal trumpet during his junior and senior years. In addition to being a fine trumpet player, Javin is a gifted composer and composed several original works chamber groups and symphony orchestra.
